Field guide / Lead quality

What makes a qualified home service lead?

Define qualification before comparing lead prices or campaign performance.

01

Begin with your service boundary

A relevant enquiry requests work you actually perform in an area you serve. A homeowner can be interested and still be outside the agreed scope. List inclusions, exclusions and the exceptions someone can approve.

02

Separate contact quality from sales readiness

A valid phone number is useful but does not prove intent, availability or a suitable project. Define what information is needed before a lead is accepted. A contact, assessment request, confirmed appointment and signed order are different milestones.

03

Use a shared acceptance definition

For a supplied lead arrangement, agree location, service type, duplicate treatment, delivery timestamp, exclusivity if applicable and the review process. Do not assume a replacement or refund policy exists because another provider offers one.

04

Record what your team did

Quality reviews need contact attempt records and outcomes. An unanswered first call is not conclusive evidence of a bad enquiry. Equally, a low submission cost does not prove that the source produces suitable projects. Keep the evidence and the interpretation separate.

05

Compare on business outcomes

Where the records are reliable, compare reachable enquiries, assessments, proposals and won jobs by source. Factor in the handling effort and real capacity. Any economic estimate needs your own verified inputs; this guide does not forecast a return.
